- Description
- Art Unbound - Breaking Barriers in the 20th and 21st Centuries
How do we define art in the 21st century? Are there any boundaries left to break in the contemporary art world? This two-day workshop investigates how the center of the art world has expanded beyond Paris and New York to today’s global, cyber-centered culture in the last 100 years. Guest presenters include curators and educators from VMFA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach, 1708 Gallery, Virginia Commonwealth University, and others. Come join your art-loving friends and explore VMFA’s 20th and 21st Century Art Galleries as well as the European Modernism gallery, which will open in May. The two-day adventure will feature gallery interactions, discussions with experts, and hands-on art-making activities.
