Group Tours
Guided Tours
Guided tours are available for groups of 10 – 50 adults. These tours last 30 or 50 minutes. Tour dates and times are based on Docent and gallery availability. Audio tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Permanent collection tours cost $5 per person. Tours of special exhibitions will include the cost of the exhibition in addition to the tour fee. See each exhibition page for specific group rates.
Reservations: Request a tour online, by phone at 804.340.1575, or by email at groupsales@vmfa.museum. Unfortunately, we may not be able to fulfill all tour requests as exceptions apply around holidays and tour dates and times are based on Docent and gallery availability.
Please note: One tour guide is scheduled for every 25 adults, based on the gallery. It is important that you finalize the number in your group two weeks prior to your tour so that we can accurately schedule tour guides. Should your final group number exceed the maximum allowed per tour guide scheduled, your tour may default to a self-directed visit.
Self-Directed Visits
Self-directed group visits of VMFA’s permanent collection are free and available Mon – Sun, 10 am – 5 pm; Thu and Fri until 9 pm. Audio tours for our permanent collection are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Special exhibitions will be discounted for groups of 10 or more.

Lunch
Group luncheons in the Marble Hall are available for groups of 20 or more. Group menu only (contact Kathy Parrish, see below for contact info). Please provide us with your lunch selections at least three weeks prior to your tour. Your guaranteed guest count must be provided at least two weeks before your visit. You will be invoiced for this minimum number and prepayment must be made at least one week prior to your visit.

Your group may also enjoy lunch at either of VMFA’s two dining establishments: Best Café, which is first-come, first-served, or Amuse Restaurant, which requires reservations. Phone 804.340.1580 for reservations at Amuse.
Parking
Bus parking is available at the back of the parking deck. Car parking is $5 per day for nonmembers and free for members.
